10 It’s Set In Outer Space
The surreal outer space setting of Hellpoint is nothing short of majestic. We see the cosmos covered in space dust in this screenshot.
A solar eclipse is visible in the sky, and it doesn’t appear to be moving its place any time soon. It’s almost as if time has frozen in Hellpoint. You play as an artificial human called The Spawn. This could explain why this silent hero can breathe in outer space. Hellpoint’s premise is intriguing enough to get our blood boiling.
9 The Developer Wanted To Create A Souls-Like
The developer of Hellpoint is hellbent on creating Dark Souls in outer space. Everything from the stamina bar, the combat system, the enemy movements, and more suggests that Hellpoint will be a knockout Souls-like.

We were a bit underwhelmed by Hellpoint’s early gameplay videos, but it will surely be a hit with the Souls community if it comes close to Dark Souls. It falls in line with Dark Souls, despite taking place in a different universe.
8 Online And Local Co-Op
It is confirmed that Hellpoint will have both local and online co-op. Although online co-op is a fundamental part of Dark Souls, local co-op is something we haven’t seen in the series.
Local co-op means that split-screen will be a part of the game. It will drastically shift the dynamics of Souls-likes. It’s great that the developers of Hellpoint are making unprecedented changes rather than copying Dark Souls outright. This game continues to show promise with further developments.
7 Fight Your Way On A Derelict Space Station
When we think of the setting of Hellpoint, we think of games like Alien: Isolation and Dead Space. Located on Irid Novo, you find yourself as the only person left on a derelict space station.
It’s crawling with hostile extraterrestrials who want to cleanse the space colony of all life. Many secrets lie in Irid Novo. Is it possible that the colony of humans will be resurrected? We’ll have to play to find out!
6 Face-Off Against Interdimensional Extraterrestrials
To make matters worse, the space station is overrun by interdimensional extraterrestrials. This could make combat more complicated if enemies can transcend the dimensional and physical limitations of the protagonist.

It’s becoming evident that developer Cradle Games has included a wide variety of foes for the player to combat. Some enemies can teleport and attack in other unexpected ways.
5 It’s Available On Most Current-Gen Platforms
We can be relieved that Hellpoint will be releasing for most major platforms. Including the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC, this game will be widely available.
Will it be a cross-platform game? We don’t know yet, but we can’t rule anything out!
4 Hellpoint Is A Dark Game
The dark nature of Hellpoint tells us that it will have horror elements. The game is not labeled as a horror game per se, but it’s abundantly clear that it will be a frightening game at times.
The darkness might even serve as a friend if there is a significant stealth component like Dark Souls. It’s actually a role-playing game, which brings us to our next point.
3 It’s A Role-Playing Game
You’ll decide your fate in Hellpoint as this is a role-playing game. In a role-playing game, you get to play the role of another character in a fictional setting.
If Hellpoint merely tries to copy Dark Souls without being inventive, it could be a lackluster disappointment. If they, however, add more customization than what we see in Dark Souls, it could wind up being a phenomenal game with tremendous replay value.
2 Launch Ranged Attacks
We’ve noticed from the gameplay videos that the player can launch ranged attacks at his opponents. Dark Souls is another game that enables the player to volley ranged attacks at enemies, contributing to the belief that Hellpoint is a Souls-like.

Differing from Dark Souls, the player can shoot firearms and catalysts. Catalysts are long-range weapons used to fight enemies and bosses. It’s unclear how many ranged weapons will be included in Hellpoint. The game will, however, have magic attacks to supplement ranged weapons.
1 The Price Is Unknown
We don’t know how much Hellpoint will cost, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it were a full-priced Triple-A game. There appears to be a significant amount of content, even if the graphics could use more polish.
The release of Hellpoint will likely take place in 2020, yet there’s still time for Cradle Games to work on its polish. This game could wind up being one of the great Souls-likes if Hellpoint’s developers play their cards right.
