New signing Angelo Henriquez has admitted that he needs to improve in order to reach the level required to play for United in the Premier League. Speaking to a Chilean radio station, Henriquez said “I’m training and looking to get an opportunity. There are many things I have to improve to reach the level of Manchester United.”

With the signing of Robin van Persie already in the bag before the deal was done, the transfer did raise a few eyebrows – but his record speaks for itself. Over the summer, he scored a massively impressive 15 goals in an U20 tour that lasted under 2 months. Henriquez is one for the future and he realises it.

The news that Henriquez failed to make United’s Champions League squad was also a surprise, but Henriquez said he can’t expect to be included in the squad straight away, saying “I won’t ask to be given some minutes and nor will I pretend I’m better than I really am. I have to go step by step. I have to adapt and improve physically.”
