Pokemon games have a lot of ups and downs when it comes to the fans perceptions of them. While some players call themselves Gen Oners and profess to only only like the first generation of the Pokemon franchise, there are others that like later generations. Despite the Pokemon community’s differing opinions, a lot of fans came together on Twitter with similar things to say about the Unova games.

A Pokemon fan took to Twitter to ask about controversial opinions that fans have about the Pokemon franchise, which generated a lot of responses centered around Generation 5. The Unova games are widely considered to be the least popular out of all of them, but the replies on Twitter seemed to combat this idea. At the time this is being written, Gen 5 has been included in over 9,000 Tweets, many of them including positive messages about the Pokemon Black and White games.

Many Twitter users praised Gen 5 for its unique Pokemon and interesting story. While some mentioned that they didn’t like that most of the early generation Pokemon could only be found late in the game, most praised this aspect as it gave fans the ability to be truly immersed in that generation without blurring the lines and allowed the region to stand out from others. With the fantastic cities and unique new Pokemon in the region, players said that the Unova games pushed new boundaries that the franchise hadn’t before this generation. Fans also had a lot to say about Team Plasma’s N, with many labeling him as one of the best characters in the franchise due to his complexity and story arc.

While some fans are hoping that Nintendo will create Gen 5 remakes like players think they’ll be making for Sinnoh soon, it may be a while before that happens. Until then, players have a lot of new content to experience with the new Isle of Armor DLC for Pokemon Sword and Shield.
