The PS5 reveal event will be broadcast at 1 PM PT. The pre-taped event is reportedly going to be over an hour long and dedicate at least an hour of that to revealing PS5 games. It looks like there’ll be a huge turnout of people tuning into the broadcast, if the amount of tweets is anything to go by. Twitter user @Urorimsin joked about the huge response with a video of several anime characters running and the comment that this represented the excited potential PS5 players running toward the event.

The account @Dexerto asked people what their “dream game announcement” would be. Popular wishes were for Infamous, Call of Duty, and God of War. There is a rumor going around that a new God of War installment might be announced at the reveal event, thanks to a Tweet from a developer at Santa Monica Studio. Regardless, there are sure to be tons of exciting new games announced.

Despite the global pandemic, Sony stated that it’s confident the PS5 distribution and price won’t be affected. Multiple Twitter users complained about not being able to afford the console, but the trend was toward maintaining excitement and hope, not blaming Sony. A lot of people will find a way to pay or hold off on the PS5, because it’s so anticipated. Even if people don’t buy, a lot of them will likely tune into the event.

The PS5 reveal event wasn’t always set for June 11. At the beginning of June, Sony postponed the original event date in light of the Black Lives Matter protests. Sony didn’t initially reveal a new event date when it announced the postponement. But now that the new date has been announced, it turns out that the delay was only for a week. That may seem like a long time to potential buyers hungering for news, but for now, the event is going forward and the fans are ready.

The PS5 will be available Holiday 2020.
